Main Purpose of the Role

The Head of Architecture creates, communicates and improves the key principles, methods and models that describe the current and future state and enablers for the technological evolution. Leads the Architecture team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary Architecture and Business Analysis team
  • Provide exceptional leadership in designing architecture solutions
  • Formulation of solutions, including collecting customer requirements and assessing solution alternatives based on trade-offs in cost, performance, reliability and security
  • Manages and facilitates the technology roadmap
  • Identifies and promotes appropriate new and emerging technologies
  • Evaluate third party solutions and support procuring external solutions to be integrated within the Truphone technologies
  • Represents Truphone at relevant external forums and events including producing and presenting papers where required.
  • Provides leadership to the architecture and design community including training, mentoring and coaching of architects and designers to help maintain the community

 

Skills and Experience Required

  • 7+ years of design/implementation/consulting experience with distributed applications.
  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking.
  • 3+ years of team leadership and management experience
  • Technical degree required; Computer Science background highly desired.
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
  • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
