Main Purpose of the Role

To provide high-quality technical IT support to internal staff including hardware, software, systems and applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing 2nd line support to staff globally
  • Providing 1st line support where deemed necessary
  • Management of day to day IT tasks such as software installations, fault diagnosis and correction, arranging repairs and servicing for all IT hardware, build, configuration and deployment of machines to new and existing users
  • Configure & Troubleshoot Blackberry (BES Admin), Nokia, iOS and Android handsets
  • Internal IT support ensuring smooth running of IT systems and software including but not limited to Windows 7/8.1, MS Office 2013, Lync 2013, AV software, desktop backups
  • Administration tasks of key IT systems including Exchange Server 2013, Lync Server 2013, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure used by key areas of the business
  • Monitoring internal IT servers and services globally ensuring a pro-active response is taken to any issues to ensure smooth running of the business
  • Asset management: Maintain and track inventory of equipment (laptops, PCs, telephones, mobile phones, printers, access points, accessories etc.), including pre-emptive and reactive ordering, issuing and retrieval of equipment.
  • Managing and maintaining backups for internal IT systems
  • Provide support on internal IT projects as directed by the IT Support Manager
  • Defining and maintaining IT processes ensuring they are streamlined and effective
  • Create system and end user documentation as required
  • Support office AV equipment - Projectors, Lync Room System, Crestron including IT setup for ad-hoc internal conference meetings.

Skills and Experience Required

  • 2-3 years of working in a front-line technical IT support environment.
  • Proven experience managing day to day work load, knowing when to prioritise and the ability to work self-sufficiently.
  • Demonstrated the ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude towards sharing expertise and assisting others to learn.
  • MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician Windows 7 is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, able to confidently work at all levels within the company
  • Desktop OS including Windows 7 & 8.1
  • Microsoft Office 2013 including Outlook setup and troubleshooting
  • Mac OSX 10.10 + Office for Mac 2011 administration & troubleshooting skills
  • Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Active Directory, Exchange 2013 and Lync Server 2013 Administration
  • Windows services: DNS, DHCP, DFS, NPS, RDS, File and Print
  • Group Policy Administration
  • Backup Technologies (Backup Exec, Netbackup)
  • Experience with VMWare ESXi, vCenter and Horizon View
  • Storage knowledge including SAN/NAS
  • Monitoring Technologies
  • Basic networking knowledge.
