Main Purpose of the Role

We are recruiting a Translation / Localisation Specialist for a three month contract role to help us through a key period in our development.  This role sits in between project management and technology so has elements of both in it.  You will manage the schedule as well as check and perform the UAT (user acceptance testing).  Based in Canary Wharf you will join an energised and talented digital marketing team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages localization effort from beginning to end, working closely with internal business stakeholders and external vendors and other departments.
  • Develops and maintains translation schedules, workflows, & cost tracking reports and quality control.
  • Creates and controls localization project requests, develops copydecks required for every translation project
  • Identifies and solves localization issues, whether system or product, identifies causes and reports to the relevant stakeholder’s groups (internal or external)
  • Performs end to end UAT on each new translated asset via the appropriate device (web, mobile, tablet)
  • Ensure all changes are appropriately logged into the Translation memory tool, while enhancing the terminology dictionary to create a consistent tone of voice across all products sets.

 

Skills and Experience Required

  • Solid in-depth knowledge of internationalization and localization
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience directly with online localisation projects
  • Hands on experience with Globalization Management Systems, such as XTM, WorldServer and SDL TMS
  • Proficiency in translation memory tools are required
  • Excellent presentation/communication skills, with the ability to clearly present the localization life-cycle other stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Fluency in non-English language (plus)
  • Problem-solving capabilities
  • Quality and detail-oriented
  • Strong team player in a multi-language/multi-cultural environment
  • Self-starter and pro-active
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
