Main Purpose of the Role

The Strategic Partnerships Team is responsible for establishing breakthrough deals with global partners, such as Device Manufacturers (current clients such as as Apple) , Ecosystem Players, Operators, IoT companies, Connected Cars (current client such as Kia)  and other businesses in the Mobile value chain, utilising Truphone’s capabilities. 

Your role is to identify prospects, generate interest, develop the proposition and close significant new global deals. You will also be responsible for managing selected existing Strategic Partners to continue to innovate and develop the partnership and to increase overall revenues.

You will need to display exceptional business acumen, commercial creativity and relationship building skills. You will need a good understanding of network, SIM and Mobile Device technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifying potential partners (events, desk work, networking etc) and qualifying their fit to Truphone capabilities and sustainable business models
  • Engaging with prospect partners, presenting Truphone, understanding the partners business and potential opportunities and then critically qualifying them in or out
  • Working internally and with qualified partners to develop propositions that leverage Truphone capabilities and produce a significant and sustainable incremental stream of revenues.
  • Developing, trialling and testing new propositions with Partners; taking part in Proofs of Concept
  • Constructing business cases and commercial models.
  • Responding to selected RFPs
  • Managing key stakeholders, gaining internal approvals, such as Finance and Legal.
  • Implementing and launching new services
  • Managing existing partners; developing and expanding the business
  • Establishing strong and trusted relationships across the industry with key influencers, potential future partners and existing partners

Skills and Experience Required

  • At least 5 years’ experience in technology Business Development and/or Sales
  • Experience with working with large global partners, particularly opening/closing negotiations
  • Proven track record of success in new business development
  • Able to manage C level negotiations
  • Experience of producing and delivering account pitches that target the key areas for success
  • Self-motivated in order to deliver exceptional results
  • Excellent communication and customer management skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent negotiation skills, able to deliver valuable outcomes
  • Commercially astute; competitive and proactive instinct; tenacious; adaptable; resilient
  • Able to work and lead collaboratively across multifunctional teams
  • Well informed and in close contact with key mobile industry trends and their relevance to developing Strategic Partnerships for Truphone
  • Customer focussed
  • Able to navigate through conflict and challenges towards positive outcome while retaining focus and perspective.
